David graduated from Lamar High in 1964. After a few “not so successful semesters” of college in Pittsburg and Joplin, Uncle Sam requested his services. David was in the Air Force from 1966-1969. Upon returning home to Lamar he enrolled into what was then called Missouri Southern State College. David graduated with his degree in Accounting in 1974. Before starting Roth Accounting in Lamar he worked for a CPA firm in Nevada, MO for a few years.
Sometime during the late 80s (who’s counting) David set up shop near the Lamar square and has been mastering the tax service around the square ever since. He has over 35 years of experience in the industry.
For recreation over the years David enjoyed tennis, bowling, and golf. He posted a personal best single game of 289 at Hillcrest Lanes, missing a strike in the 10th frame. Nowadays he enjoys hanging with the boys at the Lamar Elks Lodge and helping his granddaughter, Eva, on her special projects at the Roth Accounting office. He is also helping his son, Courtney, in reinventing the family farm as a local food producer.
